USA : 10 Fashion Design Seniors compete for Runway Challenge

February 22, 2008

Tune in to catch all the drama as 10 Fashion Design seniors compete in the second season of Philadelphia University’s Runway Challenge this spring. Taping for the show is currently underway, so don’t miss the excitement of the first challenge, scheduled to air Monday, March 3 at 2 p.m. on NBC10’s 10! Show.

Selected for their design philosophy, as well as the creativity and quality of their work, this year’s competition, reality series participants are Regina Amato, Karen Bloomfield, David Ciuper, Jessica Gardner, Michelle Guan, Sandra Huffaker, Nancy Krebs, Emily Kyle O’Neill, Casey Lea Saccomanno and Andjela Vukancic.

For eight weeks, they will compete for the chance to showcase their designs during a runway show televised every Monday at 2 p.m. on 10!

Challenges range from the extreme to the practical. At the conclusion of every challenge, contestants will take their design down the runway for a critique by a panel of judges who will eliminate one contestant per week.

At the end of eight weeks, the 10 contestants will be whittled down to only three finalists, who will face-off during a live runway event Monday, April 28 on 10! Last year’s finalists included Fashion Design alumnae Dominique Asuncion ’07, Pam Martin ’07 and winner Alison Winters ’07, who secured first place with her creative and marketable “skater girl” collection.

Like Winters, the winner of this year’s Runway Challenge will receive an all-expense-paid trip to that international fashion hot spot, Paris, France.
