Prriya & Chintan offer a riot of colours in ready-to-wear line

From creating the most opulent bridal trousseaux, Prriya and Chintan moved into the ready-to-wear realm when they unveiled their Autumn/Winter 2008 line inspired by Erte at Lakme Fashion Week.

Erte's designs and drapes from the 1920s were a creative theme for the duo that presented skirts, saris, dresses and jackets with an artful use of drapes, pleats and prints.

Colour has always been a strong forte of the pair as rich tones of purple, jade green and gold were textured into fusion wear.

The collection was completed with ethnic men's wear that had regal sherwanis, raja coats with Patiala salwars and dhoti skirts.

Blending Indian silhouettes and fabrics Prriya and Chintan's very international collection had all the right touches of cuts, prints and embellishments.

Some of the most glamorous prêt collection was seen on the ramp from the studios of Prriya and Chintan. Their sari drapes and manipulation of the double pallavs and kalis was outstanding and the styling of the dramatic net long cholis with built in bustiers was sensational.

Each garment was a carefully crafted work of design. Drama was created with the gold tube dress with a green criss cross front drape, the sheer beige overcoat with a printed wrap skirt, the amazing beige and green slit sari with double pallav and gold Lurex blouse, the sari with yokes, the digital printed slitted sari with two drapes teamed with a net jacket.

The pair also had four men's ethnic wear which was as rich and ornate as that for the opposite sex. Prince coats with Patiala pants, gold sherwanis with cowl drape, and prince coat with churidars and wrap skirt.
