Capital Fashion Week (CFW) is considered by fashion critics and specialized consultants as the third in rank in Brazil, after São Paulo Fashion Week and Fashion Rio.
The event has had ample national media repercussion, showing the rest of the country fashion made in the Center-West region of Brazil.
A bill passed by the city council recognizes CFW as the official fashion event in the nation’s capital, having included it as part of the Official Calendar of Brasilia.
Created and developed by Marcia Lima, local entrepreneur, Capital Fashion Week has mainly an economic outlook, striving to consolidate local brands from the Center-West region with marketing strategies used abroad, offering sales results and the stregthening of participating brands.
Successfully taking place since 2005, always in September, at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center, CFW has brought together over 40,000 people.
Drawing towards it’s fourth edition, the event is highly influential in the Center-West, as well as the Northeast of Brazil and attracts fashion makers and buyers from these and other regions.
The repercussion generated by CFW created a demand for two yearly editions. That’s where the idea for a “pocket edition” came from. It will be held in March and will show local brands’ and designers’ autumn/winter collections.
